About Carmen Ferber

Carmen is, first and always, a child of God, deeply grateful for His constant presence and unwavering love. She has been married to her first love, Otto, a devoted and remarkable father to their children, for fifty years as of 2026.The greatest joy and calling of Carmen’s life has been raising her twenty-one children and opening her heart and home to more than two dozen foster children along the way. Each child, each story, has shaped her deeply and taught her lessons she continues to carry. Carmen began her professional life as a Registered Nurse and later followed a deeper calling into ministry, completing a Doctor of Ministry degree. For nearly eighteen years, homeschooling became the heartbeat of their family life, as her eldest children completed high school at home and went on to pursue university studies.Over the years, Carmen’s work has taken many forms, always rooted in care and service. Her journey has included nursing, co-owning and helping manage an automotive repair shop, and serving as Executive Director of Morningstar Family Ministries of Canada Incorporated. Through this work, she directed a fostering agency, humanitarian projects in Ghana, and the design and construction of twenty-three homes to fund charitable initiatives. She also maintained a counselling practice for twenty-five years and spent many hours speaking, listening, and walking alongside refugees, the homeless, immigrants, and those facing mental health challenges. At its heart, Carmen’s life is one of faith lived out in ordinary and extraordinary ways, through family, service, perseverance, and a lifelong commitment to love where she was called.
